ASTI (Association of Science and Technology Information) is an organization under the guidance of KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information). Established in 2009 on a national scale, ASTI acts as a forum for collaboration between industry, academia, research institutions, and government, forming the largest R&D (Research and Development) ecosystem in Korea that focuses on synergy between sectors (industry-academia-research).
This event aims to be a strategic forum to build a global foundation for South Korean companies seeking to enter Indonesia, while strengthening the cooperation between ASTI and Indonesia through family business collaboration, knowledge research associations, and technology exchange conferences. At this event, there were also introductions and presentations from several institutions, including Dr. Seong-ho Seo as Director of the Busan, Ulsan Gyeongnam Branch Bigdata Intelligence Cooperation Center, Dr. Park Sun-young as Representative of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), Jung Jin-young as Director of the Korea-Indonesia Industry and Technology Cooperation Center (KITC), Jin-ho Kong as Counselor of Science & Technology from the Mission of the ROK to ASEAN, Sang-min Lee as Team Leader of the Asean-Korea Program Management Team (AKPMT), and Youn-ha Kim as Head of the Global Business Center (GBC) from KOSMES
Furthermore, the NIA CEO also provided an explanation regarding consultations related to small and medium enterprises from South Korea who wish to enter the Indonesian market.
Together with this, it is hoped that programs that support SMEs and startups will become more widely known and have a positive impact in the future. In addition, this chapter also provides an important opportunity to deeply understand various aspects, such as the development schedule for local Indonesian businesses, the strategic direction of digital cooperation between South Korea and Indonesia, South Korea's policy in supporting the expansion of digital startups abroad, and funding opportunities offered through South Korea-ASEAN cooperation.
